Cos’è la pulizia del viso? Da cosa dobbiamo pulire il viso e perché?

What is facial cleansing? What should we cleanse the face from and why?

Every girl who wants a radiant complexion knows it: facial cleansing is an unmissable appointment within a correct skin care.

Through a few simple steps you will free the skin from impurities, excess sebum, make-up residues and dead cells, thus preparing it to receive subsequent treatments and guaranteeing the active ingredients contained in creams and serums to act at their best.

Whether carried out at home or by the skilled hands of a trusted beautician, it is a fundamental step to ensure a well-groomed, luminous and healthy skin. But be careful not to confuse it with what must be the daily cleansing, which we remember must be carried out morning and evening!

What is the difference between cleaning the face at home and the aesthetic one in the institute?

Raise your hand if you have searched at least once for a tutorial on Youtube or an article that talked about do-it-yourself facial cleansing, saving countless homemade face mask recipes on their Pinterest board!

In its amateur version, facial cleansing often allows us to also use cheap and everyday products, such as brown sugar, honey or lemon ... all ingredients that lend themselves well not only to baking delicious cakes, but also to pamper our skin.

Carried out at a specialized institute, on the other hand, we will be able to count on a number of treatments and products capable of cleaning the skin in greater depth, where the detergents used usually cannot reach, taking advantage of a treatment tailored for us. A gift that is also worth giving to learn a little more about our skin type and how to take care of it at its best.

We have learned over time what the 6 basic steps are: cleansing, pores opening, exfoliation, application of the most suitable mask, application of the tonic and finally hydration, and we also feel quite confident when it comes to putting them into practice.

Let's do a quick review and see the steps in more detail.

Cleansing : consists of removing all traces of make-up from the face, using delicate products such as micellar water. Be careful to choose a make-up remover indicated for the eyes, perhaps a biphasic that will help remove even the most stubborn waterproof mascara.

Pore opening : allows you to better prepare the skin to receive subsequent treatments. Just boil a medium-sized pot of water with two tablespoons of baking soda and place your face over the pot, remaining there for about 10-15 minutes.

Exfoliation : once the pores are open, we proceed with a scrub that will deeply purify our skin. There are many alternatives on the market, otherwise you can opt for one of the many homemade recipes that involve the use of products that we all have in the pantry!

Mask application : adds an extra twist to the skin purification process. Also in this case it is essential that you respect your skin type. It is possible to choose between homemade recipes or among the numerous masks in fabric or in a jar, to be spread with the appropriate brush.

Tonic application : favors the closing of pores and rebalances the PH of the skin after cleansing and application of the mask. It is sufficient to apply it on the face with a cotton pad, gently tapping on the various areas, taking care to avoid the eye area.

Hydration : last but not least, our favorite face cream is the protagonist. Choose it carefully, a nourishing solution if you have dry skin or that needs an extra dose of hydration, a lighter one will be suitable for oily skin, while a delicate and soothing formulation if it is particularly sensitive and prone to irritation. Apply it with circular movements from the chin to the forehead, in order to favor the reactivation of the microcirculation and thus have a radiant and luminous complexion.

Facial cleansing at the beautician: why do it and how often?

Facial cleansing by the beautician is, as we said, first of all a pampering that it would be good to indulge in from time to time: taking care of yourself is the first act of love ever after all!

After having identified our skin type, a specialized beautician will proceed with the treatment that best suits us, avoiding unpleasant surprises. Did you know, for example, that the use of steam is not recommended for overly delicate skin and that there are solutions based on salicylic and pyruvic acid, which in adequate concentrations, allow to obtain the same effect without the use of heat?

Regarding the frequency, it mainly depends on the type of skin; if you suffer from acne or have particularly oily skin, it will certainly be advisable to undergo professional cleaning more frequently. Those who have drier or more delicate skin, on the other hand, will have to reduce the frequency to avoid subjecting it unnecessarily to stress that could cause redness or inflammation.

What machines do you clean your face with? How many types of facial cleansing are there?

There are numerous types of facial cleansing that can be carried out at specialized beauty centers, in full compliance with the different types of skin; let's discover the main ones together.

ULTRASONIC FACIAL CLEANSING : an absolutely innovative and avant-garde treatment, which allows to obtain a smooth and smooth skin. Through a completely painless mechanical stimulation, also suitable for oily skin, the complete opening of the pores is guaranteed and the expulsion of impurities and dirt in a simple and natural way. It will also stimulate the production of collagen, thus preparing the skin to better receive subsequent treatments.

STEAM FACIAL CLEANSING : The best known method and also used at home. Through the use of steam, which can be dispensed through facial saunas, for example, the pores will be opened, thus facilitating cleaning and expulsion of impurities. Also in this case, the treatment is absolutely painless, but it is not recommended for those with particularly delicate skin, because it could cause stress and redness.

FACIAL CLEANSING WITH ACIDS : There are several, among these we remember the  deep chemical peeling based on mandelic acid (extracted from cold almonds) at 50% concentration: perfect for stimulating cell renewal, it is effective for fighting skin discoloration and acne scars. Guarantees soft, supple and radiant skin.

Another of the most used treatments is undoubtedly the one based on glycolic acid , a fruit acid, obtained from cane sugar, which effectively removes dead cells and impurities, thanks to its exfoliating action. It is also worth mentioning the treatment based on salicidic acid, with lightening and smoothing properties, and the one based on lactic acid, a hydroxy acid, with disinfectant, exfoliating and lightening properties.

FACIAL CLEANSING WITH OXYGEN : Oxygen therapy is another treatment that is increasingly taking a turn in specialized centers. The treatment consists of a propulsion of oxygen that crosses the barrier of the dermis penetrating deeply. Through this oxygen propagation, the microcirculation and consequently the cells are stimulated to increase the production of collagen and elastin. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action, it reduces irritation and accelerates the healing process, therefore it is also recommended for those suffering from rosacea.
